Lake Willoughby is listed as a Natural National Landmark


The lake is home to the Peregrine Falcon, once an endangered species. Loon have also been seen enjoying the waters of Lake Willoughby. The cliffs of Mount Psgah and Mount Hor provide a natural habitat for the rare falcon.


The Lake is the deepest lake in Vermont, with depths exceeding 300 feet.


Lake Willoughby holds the world's record for the largest trout ever caught through the ice. The fish weighed in at 39 pounds, (18kg)

 Chill-A-While Cottage 1
Looking down Route 5A toward the lake's public boat ramp and the lovely village center of Westmore, Cottage 1 is great for those who enjoy watching the world go by. 2 double bedrooms, microwave kitchen with coffee maker and toaster, bath with shower, living/dining area and covered porch. For four people: Single night-$195, Two nights or more-$135per night, $850 per week. Two night minimum July and August.
 Maple Leaf - Cottage 2
Cottage 2 is centrally located adjacent to 3/4 of an acre of trimmed lawn ideal for frisbee. The cottage has two double bedrooms, microwave kitchen with toaster and coffee maker, bathroom with shower, living area and covered porch. For four people: Single night: $195, Two nights or more: $135 per night, $850 per week.
 Pine Bough - Cottage 3
Cottage 3 sits along the driveway nearest the office. There are two bedrooms, each with a double bed. The kitchen is equipped with toaster, coffee maker, microwave and all dishes, utensils, cleaning supplies and dish towels. Bathroom with sink, toilet and shower. Out front, a table and lawn chairs look toward the lake. For four people: Single night-$195, Two nights or more-$135 per night, $850 per week. Two night minimum July and August.
 Angler's Rest - Cottage 5
Privately situated on the lawn, with views of the lake, this winterized cottage has 2 bedrooms with double beds, full kitchen, living room with dining area and bath with shower. For four people: Single night - $210, Two or more nights - $155 per night, $976 per week. Five night minimum July and August.
 The Octagon - Cottage 6
Close to the beach, "The Octagon" is cottage 6, and is named for the Victorian octagon-shaped lake house which once stood on this site. Inside, there are two double bedrooms and one single bedroom, a full kitchen and bathroom with shower. Outside, a covered porch and picnic table with a private front yard enclosed by an embankment of fern and wildflowers provides added living space. This cottage sleeps five. For five people. Single night - $225, Two or more nights - $165 per night, $1,038 per week. Five night minimum July and August.
 The Emerson, A Three Bedroom Cottage
Some History Big and bright, Cottage 7 - The Emerson is named for Vermont Governor Lee Emerson, whose lake house it replaced in the 1990's following a fire in the original structure. Large covered porch, large living/dining/full kitchen, queen bedroom, double bedroom, and small room with roll-out foam bed, bath with shower. For five people: Single night - $225, Two nights or more $165, $1050 per week. Five night minimum July and August.
 Affordable Lodge Rooms in the Historic Lyndon
One of the earliest cottages in the Foster's Grove section, the Lyndon was once the lake house of the Darling family of Lyndonville. Four rooms, each of which sleeps two, share the large kitchen and bathroom. Perfect for hikers, cyclists and kayakers. Up to two people - $99 per night, $650 per week. All four rooms (when available) $325 per night, $1999 per week.
